Apologizing to customers for delivery delays which occurred after a technology update in mid-June, the LCBO says at the height of the disruption, 240 stores were affected, but that it’s now been reduced to 15 outlets.
The Liquor Control Board also says the issue will be resolved in two to three weeks.
The president of the union representing LCBO workers finds that timeline ”very ambitious.”
OPSEU’s Warren ”Smokey” Thomas says front-line employees have told him the delay’s not likely to be resolved until September.
He says the LCBO was warned by workers about the problems associated with a technology update at its Durham Retail Service Centre earlier this year, but that the advice was ignored.
