A new study suggests more than 10 per cent of Americans 65 and older engage in binge drinking.
Researchers from the New York University School of Medicine say seniors who binge drink are putting themselves at a higher risk for a range of physical, mental, and behavioural health complications.
They define binge drinking in men as consuming five or more drinks on the same occasion and four or more drinks on the same occasion for women.
Interestingly, binge drinking was more common among tobacco and cannabis users, but lower among those with higher levels of education.
