A man sought after failing to return to Toronto’s Centre for Addiction and Mental Health earlier this week has been taken into police custody.
Police say Anthony Murdock was arrested in Brampton at around 2:30 a.m on Friday.
The 45-year-old had become the subject of a public safety alert on Tuesday afternoon after disappearing from CAMH while on a day pass.
Murdock, who was found not criminally responsible for an indecent act in 1998, is just the latest patient with a criminal history to be reported missing from CAMH in recent weeks.
A man found not criminally responsible for murder fled the country in early July while out on a day pass, while another patient briefly escaped in late July, but he was taken back into custody later that same day.
