If you are headed towards Price Edward County for the long weekend, bear in mind that there is limited access to the beaches at Sandbanks Provincial Park.

Ontario Parks

That’s due to high water levels on lake Ontario, which according to officials has left about a third of the park flooded.

The Cedar and Dunes trails are closed as a result of the flooding and parking is reduced to about 2,000 spaces.

However the County’s Chamber of Commerce says the situation at Sandbanks shouldn’t deter visitors, with a representative saying that there is still plenty to do and see in the area.

Park officials are encouraging visitors to check the Sandbanks official websites for updated conditions throughout the long weekend.
