The Toronto-born animator behind the classic “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” has died.

Richard Williams was born in Toronto but moved to the UK in the 50s. He won two Oscars for his work as animation Director in “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” that was released in 1988.

The movie starred Bob Hoskins and famously mixed animation and live action elements.

His family announced that he died at his home in Bristol on Friday.

Williams was 86 years old.
