Toronto’s largest school board says it has cut, or it plans to cut just shy of 300 full time positions.
The TDSB cuts come amid funding changes implemented earlier this year by the Ford government.
Those affected through lay offs and attrition affect a wide range of positions including teachers, principals, support staff and custodians
All told, the changes will save the board over $46 million this year on a budget of roughly $3.2 billion.
A spokesperson for education minister Stephen Lecce says they are still preparing a response to the TDSB memo.
