The Labour Day long weekend is upon us and as we take to the highway, byways and waterways of the Province to enjoy the last of our summer, you can expect to see the OPP out alongside you.
Some 26 people have lost their lives on OPP patrolled highways so far this year as a result of distracted driving and so the provincial police have launched a campaign this long weekend to remind drivers that their full attention needs to be on the road at all times.
Meanwhile the OPP will also be stepping up boat patrols after several recent boating incidents, including a crash that killed two people last Saturday night and involved TV personality and former conservative leadership contender, Kevin O’Leary.
You’re urged to exercise caution on the water, leave the beer on the pier and wear a life jacket.
