”Jeopardy” host Alex Trebek has had a setback and is undergoing more chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer.
The Sudbury, Ontario native says after some optimism when he stopped chemo and began immunotherapy, his ”numbers shot up,” Trebek told the ‘Good Morning America’.
Doctors regularly monitor a cancer patient’s blood cell counts to determine how his or her body’s responding to treatment.
”I was doing so well.  And my numbers went down to the equivalent of a normal human being who does not have pancreatic cancer, so we were all very optimistic,” he added.
After starting on immunotherapy, Trebek says he lost about 12 pounds in a week and his numbers went sky high, much higher than they were when he was first diagnosed, so he’s undergoing chemo again.
The 79-year-old popular game show host, who revealed in March he had Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, says his goals for the summer were to regain his strength and hair, but that progress on both fronts was ”dismal.”
