Days after millions of young people around the world took to the streets demanding immediate action on climate change, world leaders gathered at the United Nations in New York to try to reinvigorate efforts to curb carbon emissions.

They got an earful from Swedish teen activist Greta Thunberg, who opened the summit with an angry condemnation of leaders for not doing enough.
”How dare you,” said the visibly emotional 16-year-old as she scolded the leaders.
”This is all wrong.  I shouldn’t be up here.  I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean yet you all come to us young people for hope,” she added.
”You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words.”
Thunberg went on to say people are dying, eco-systems are collapsing and all they can talk about is money and tell fairy-tales of eternal economic growth.
”You are failing us, but young people are starting to understand your betrayal.”
