It seems Doug Ford’s hurting federal Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer’s chances of winning the October election.
That’s according to the latest survey from Angus Reid Institute, which finds half of Ontario’s population (49%) say the Ford government will influence their vote.
Among this group, the vast majority (85%) say they’re less likely to support Scheer and the Tories.
Overall, this equates to four-in-ten (42%) Ontario residents who say the Ford PCs will sway their decision, which is why Ford has not campaigned alongside Scheer , but also why Justin Trudeau has likely mentioned the premier’s name over a dozen times so far this week.
In Ontario, the Trudeau Liberals have the support of 36% while the Scheer Conservatives have 35%.
