Nearly 21 thousand Manitoba homes and businesses remain without power in the wake of a snowstorm that the province’s Crown energy utility says left an unprecedented amount of damage.
Manitoba Hydro chief executive officer Jay Grewal says there are more poles down than those standing. Officials say that thousands have gone without power since Friday.
Premier Brian Pallister declared a state of emergency early yesterday morning.
