MUSIC WRITER AND BIOGRAPHER NICK TOSCHES DIES

The music writer and biographer, who brought a brash style to coverage of the music world in the late 60s and 70s has died at the age of 69.
Nick Tosches was a member of the “Noise Boys” who published his first book in 1977 and followed that in 1984 with a book called “Unsung Heroes of Rock “n” Roll” with chapters on singers like Ella Mae Morse.  Later he applied similar skills to novels and books on Dean Martin and Sonny Liston.
Tosches died yesterday in New York.
The exact cause has not been determined.  However, a friend confirmed Toschez had been ill for some time.
Nick Tosches was 69.
