After announcing 200 job losses in July, FORD’s just announced the loss of 450 more positions starting in February.
The most junior employees will start getting layoff notices next month as the automaker confirms it’s ending production of its FORD Flex and Lincoln MKT models.
The union local’s also been notified that one of three shifts in the auto body shop is also being eliminated.
Local President Dave Thomas says the Oakville facility is in desperate need of a new product and hopes FORD, Queen’s Park and Ottawa are going to make financial investments.
