AGO'S LOSS IS NATIONAL GALLERY'S GAIN

The National Gallery of Canada has named Newfoundland native and the current Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Art Gallery of Ontario, as its new deputy director and chief curator.

The appointment takes Kitty (Katherine) Scott back to the Ottawa museum where she served as contemporary art curator from 2000 to 2006

Scott is the first women to permanently hold the chief curator position at the National Gallery.

She has 25-years of experience at art institutions in Canada and abroad and assumes her new duties January 6th.
