It’s only taken 25 years.
Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas is You” has finally topped the US charts.
When it made its debut in 1994 it was an EP (extended play) and not a single and wasn’t allowed to compete on Billboard’s Hot 100.
Rule changes saw the song first enter the chart in 2000 and over the past twenty years it’s edged closer to the top spot.
When it finally did hit number one, the 49 year old singer tweeted, “We did it,” with a string of emojis conveying happy tears.
