Unless there’s a tentative deal, Ontario’s English Catholic Teachers are preparing to launch administrative job action Monday.
The announcement comes ahead of talks with OECTA set for Thursday and Friday, and as high school teachers staged another one-day walkout; this time affecting eight boards, including Peel District, the only one in the GTA.
Meanwhile, Education Minister Stephen Lecce says individual school boards will have to decide whether to proceed with next week’s Grade 9 standardized math test.
High school teachers have been working-to-rule since November, including not preparing students for that test.
Boards were set to start administering the test on Monday, but given their job action, Lecce says boards will have to decide whether to proceed or delay the test until June.
