Rotating one-day strikes at Ontario high schools which began in early December at all boards, continue weekly at select schools.
The Durham District Board will be one of 16 affected by the next job action planned for Wednesday; and the only one in the GTA.
Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation says it would not proceed with the strike – under one condition.
”If the (Ford) government agrees to return to, and maintain, the class size ratios and staffing levels that were in place just a year ago,” says Federation President Harvey Bischof, ”we will call off our job action.”
Meanwhile, elementary and Ontario English Catholic teachers begin work-to-rule campaigns Monday.
