The rape trial of disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein begins in earnest today in New York, giving the #MeToo movement its biggest legal moment to date.

 

But 46 year old actress Rose McGowan, who is one of Weinstein’s accusers, says this is going to extremely difficult for all the women involved.  In fact, she says for the accusers, who will be in the media spotlight, the trial will be brutal.

Weinstein, who is 67, has insisted that all his sexual interactions with women were consensual. His lawyers have told the judge they plan to use what they call “intimate emails” from the accusers to support that claim.

The trial is expected to last six weeks.
