”We do not have any confirmed cases in Canada and we will let you know if the situation changes.”
That update from Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Eileen de Villa as she spoke about the city’s preparedness plan.

She says experts are monitoring the situation along with provincial and federal health partners.
de Villa also stresses experts know much more now than 17 years ago when SARS was here, and reminds residents to practice good infection prevention to help protect from becoming ill and to help prevent the spread of illness.
These include getting an annual flu shot, covering your cough and sneeze, using alcohol-based hand sanitizer, washing hands with soap and water and staying home and avoiding contact with others if you become sick.
At last report the coronavirus has infected over 800 while 26 have died.
