She was the lead producer on such hits as “Hairspray,” “Jelly’s Last Jam” and “Angels in America” to the Great White Way.
Margo Lion died in a Manhattan hospital Friday at the age of 75. Her death was confirmed over the weekend by her son who said she died several days after suffering a brain aneurysm.
Lion was born in Baltimore. She earned a bachelor’s degree degree in history and politics before going to work for Senator Robert F. Kennedy in his New York office. After Kennedy was assassinated in 1968, she quit politics and took up theatre.
Margo Lion was 75.
