Toronto’s mayor is hosting a regional meeting on gun violence Tuesday at Toronto City Hall.
John Tory welcomes fellow mayors from Mississauga, Brampton, Markham and Pickering along with police chiefs from across the GTA. Representatives from the provincial and federal governments will also be in attendance, including Ontario Solicitor General Sylvia Jones.
According to a news release, “the participants will be discussing the unacceptable increase in incidents of gun violence in the GTA and what all governments can to do ensure more collaborative and coordinated efforts to tackle gun and gang violence.”
