The World Health Organization is declaring a global health emergency over the new coronavirus, not because of what’s happening in China, but due the possible spread to other countries; especially those with weak health systems.
The vast majority of cases are in China with only three confirmed cases in Canada.
However public health officials say 27 cases in Ontario are currently under investigation while 38 have been tested and cleared.
Ottawa now says close to 200 Canadians have asked for help to leave China.
Meanwhile, the US reports the first case of person-to-person spread of the corona-virus; a man in his 60s, married to the Chicago woman, who got sick after returning from Wuhan China.
