The federal government’s chartering a second plane to bring a growing number of Canadians who want out of Wuhan, China.
Plans remain on hold however as China has not yet approved the flights to land in the region, that’s been virtually closed in attempts to try to contain the coronavirus outbreak.
Health Minister Patty Hajdu says they will be double-screened for signs of infection before they’re approved to fly back here.
She adds no Canadians who appear to be sick will be allowed into the airport, let alone approved to return to Canada.
Once they arrive, they’ll be quarantined for two weeks at Canadian Forces Base Trenton.
Meanwhile, Ontario health officials are monitoring 29 cases of possible infection, 12 more than Friday.
The three confirmed patients recovering at home are said to be doing well.
