Marcella Zoia learns her fate next month, a little over a year since a chair tossing incident which was captured on video that went viral.
The Crown feels the 20-year-old woman is ”lucky she didn’t kill someone” in February 2019 after throwing a chair off a downtown condo balcony.
She spoke in court, telling the judge she’s sorry for her actions, considering the incident a lesson.
The prosecution is seeking a four-to-six month jail sentence for Zoia, who pleaded guilty in November to mischief causing danger to life.
Her lawyer, Gregory Leslie, is arguing for a suspended sentence with conditions, including counselling for alcohol use, saying she was diagnosed with ADHD at a young age, was put on medication that didn’t go well and turned to alcohol in high school.
