The city of Toronto has received the No Board Report from the provincial Ministry of Labour, which means the city’s outside workers could be locked out or legally on strike February 27 (as of 12:01a.m).
The city says in a statement that talks with union Local 416 have not been able to result in agreement on outstanding issues, including wages, benefits, job security and parental leave.
Local 79, which represents the city’s inside employees, filed for conciliation last week.
In the event of a labour disruption, the city says it has a contingency plan that will be released in the coming days.
