2019 was another record year for tourism in Toronto.

A record 28-million visits were made to the city. That broke the 27.5 million in 2018.

This according to Tourism Toronto.

All those visitors generated a 10.3 billion dollar economic impact.

The biggest number of visitors come from the U.S. and China but there are more travellers visiting from Mexico.

It’s not all good news, however, with international issues potentially impacting tourism in the city this year.

With such a high number of visitors from China, the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak originating from the country casts a shadow over tourism in the city in 2020.

Air Canada has cancelled all flights to and from China until April.
