The city of Toronto is outlining its contingency plan in the event the city’s approximately 24,000 inside workers are locked out or on strike March 14th.
The most visible impacts would be closure of all City-run early learning and child care centres, closure and cancellation of programming, March Break camps, event permits at all rec centres, greenhouses and conservatories, pools, fitness centres, ski hills and some arenas and outdoor rinks.
Non-critical Toronto Public Health operations would be suspended.
Just last Friday, Toronto City Council approved a new agreement between the City and its 5,000 outside employees.
