Violin virtuoso Anne-Sophie Mutter has announced she’s tested positive for COVID-19.
Mutter confirmed the diagnosis with a video posted to Facebook earlier today.
“You know that I am with you in spirit but now I am also with you in the COVID-19,” Mutter said in her video. “I have been tested positive.”
She performed at the Zoomerplex back in 2014
The 56 year-old says she’s currently staying at home in quarantine and fully expects to recover. She did say there were some nerves with the diagnosis.
“It’s interesting what it does with your head, though,” said Mutter. “At first, I was like ‘oh my god. This is a total disaster.’ In some tragic cases it is. But in my case, I’m 56 and I’m not smoking so the smokers of my fans, you should consider stopping now.”
She finishes her video message by saying “forward and upwards it must go.”
