COVID-19 has claimed the life of music legend John Prine.
The ingenious singer-songwriter explored the heartbreaks, indignities and absurdities of everyday life with his music and had even written a song about the promised land.
It began…
When I get to heaven, I’m going to shake God’s hand and thank him for more blessings than one man can stand.
Then I’m going to get a guitar and form a rock and roll band and check into a swell hotel. Ain’t the afterlife grand?
Prine was hospitalized last month with coronavirus symptoms. He was then moved to intensive care and placed on a respirator.
He died last night.
John Prine was 73.
