Toronto’s mayor says he understands parents are waiting patiently to find out if city camps will be running in some form this Summer.

John Tory explained Friday morning, parents won’t have to wait much longer.

“There’s an absolute deadline so that parents know in a reasonable time and so we can make whatever arrangements, to have a decision on this by May 15th, which is a week from today,” Mayor Tory told CP24, “So I’m sorry it’s taken so long but we’re really trying to find a way to do camps knowing that kids are not going to be the easiest to manage when it comes to physically distancing. So, we’re trying to reach a decision that will be received well by parents which means we would try to put some camps on, but it’s not made yet, because it is complicated because of the staffing and all of those things.”
