The man who directed Scarborough-born comedic actor Mike Myers in Shrek 2 has died.

Kelly Asbury was an animation director who helmed movies like “Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron,” Disney’s “Little Mermaid” and worked on Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”

Asbury most recently worked as an additional story artist on the 2019 animated flim “The Addams Family.”

Kelly Asbury died of stage four cancer.  He was 60.
