Toronto and Peel Region are now officially in Stage 3 of the COVID-19 economic reopening plan, which means residents may now dine inside a restaurant, go to a movie theatre and the gym.

Toronto Mayor John Tory cautioned on Friday morning, that while this is a positive development, it also represents day one of a big test for us.

“Can we maintain the discipline? Can we wear the face coverings? Can we keep our distance? Can we stay away from those irresponsible big backyard gatherings? Can we make sure that we follow all the guidelines?” Mayor Tory asked, “Because that will be the test that will determine whether we slide backwards.”

Windsor-Essex is the only region in the province which remains in Stage 2 because of COVID-19 outbreaks on area farms.
