TORONTO AUTOMATED CAMERAS ISSUE OVER 7,600 SPEEDING TICKETS

The city of Toronto’s Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) program issued 7,645 tickets were issued during the first two weeks, between July 6 and 20.
The highest speed detected was 89 km/h on Renforth Drive near Lafferty Street (Ward 2 – Etobicoke Centre) where the limit’s 40.
The camera there issued the highest fine $ 718-dollars and issued the most tickets, just under 900 or 12% of all tickets.
There were close to 600 repeat offenders, including one, who received eight tickets for speeding at at Trehorne Drive near Duffield Road (Ward 2 – Etobicoke Centre).
The 50 automated speed enforcement cameras are installed city-wide in community safety zones near schools.
