"JOSEPH" DIRECTOR DIES AT 88

He was the British actor, writer and director who is credited with bringing “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” to Broadway in 1982.
Tony Tanner directed the original “Joseph” in New York.
Actor and singer Donny Osmond played Joseph, the musical’s lead character in a production that ran for over 2,000 performances at Toronto’s Elgin Theatre in the early 1990s.
The musical is the colourful telling of the biblical story of Joseph, which actually began as school project in the 1960a by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
The Broadway production earned Tanner two Tony nominations.
Tony Tanner has died at his home in Los Angeles.  He was 88.
