Americans are having a harder time than Canadians with the health and financial challenges from the pandemic.

A new survey by Angus Reid Institute finds our neighbours to the south are almost twice as likely as Canadians to be dealing with more stress.

Two-in-five (40%) of Americans are ”very” or ”extremely” stressed while in this country that number reaches one-in-five (22%).

The new study also finds nearly half of Americans (46%) are ”very” or ”extremely” worried about their personal financial situation, compared to a significant, but lower 28% of Canadians. 

As COVID-19 continues, both Canadians and Americans are expressing fatigue with the recommended public health guidelines.

Just over half on either side of the border say they’re tired of social distancing, mask wearing and other practices.

However, Canadians are slightly more confident in others in this country will turn things arond quickly and stem rising case numbers.

Half (52%) of Canadians surveyed have confidence in this country to reverse the trend compared with 42% in America.
