Ottawa, Peel and York Regions can ease restrictions this Saturday, but Toronto will have to wait for another week. The province has announced a new colour-coded system for COVID-19 restrictions based on specific critera in each region. Under this new approach, the lowest level of restrictions is green, followed by yellow, orange, red  up to the highest grey, or full lock down.

Bars, restaurants, gyms, theatres and casinos will be able to reopen in Ottawa, Peel and York which are now under the colour orange or ‘restrict’ but with strict rules. For example, last call will be 9 p.m. and just four guests per dining table.

But Premier Doug Ford says Toronto won’t move to the restrict, or orange level until November 14th.
“Mayor John Tory has asked us for a little more time in Toronto and as always, I will support him,” Ford told reporters.
Ontario Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams was asked why ease up now in these hotspots amid rising infections?
“Ongoing closures of these various institutions has impacts on economics and individuals,” said Dr. Williams. “We’re concerned with the social determinants of health and these ongoing closures are not going to be helpful.”
