Ontario is reporting 5,839 new cases of COVID-19 over the last two days.
3,363 of those new cases are reported today with 2,476 confirmed yesterday. 95 new deaths were also reported over the last few days.
The 3,363 new daily cases are a record for the province and push the seven-day average to a new high of 2,655 cases.
No update was given yesterday due to the New Year’s Day holiday.
61,401 were performed for the data attributed to Saturday’s numbers while a record 70,570 tests were completed for the delayed New Year’s Day numbers.
Of the new cases today, 713 are in Peel, 700 in Toronto, 395 in York Region, 226 in Windsor-Essex and 171 in Hamilton.
