Singer-songwriter Carly Simon was born on this day. The subject of her biggest hit, ‘You’re So Vain’, has remained a mystery since its release in 1972 with Simon sharing cryptic clues throughout the years. In 2003, Simon auctioned off the name of the song’s subject in a charity auction. The winner, who shelled out $50, 000 dollars for the information, was Dick Ebersol, president of NBC Sports and a friend of Simon’s.
