On July 5th, 1954 Elvis Presley was in the studio with Scotty Moore and Bill Black. During their time together in the studio Elvis Presley was experimenting with an up-tempton version of the song That’s All Right. Producer Sam Phillips had them repeat what they were just playing and records it. This version went on to become Presley’s first release on Sun Records.
