On September 26th, 1964 Roy Orbison‘s single Oh, Pretty Woman was at No.1 and would remain there for three weeks. The title was inspired by Orbison’s wife Claudette. She once interrupted a conversation to announce that she was going out. Orbison asked her if she needed any cash to which his co-witer Bill Dees said “A pretty woman never needs any money.”
