Hey music lovers! Tune in to The Soul Edition of Zoomer Crooners and Songbirds this Sunday at 6pm. Host Lily Frost is excited to share this music with you! Soul music has its roots info afro-american gospel music and R&B and is a hybrid of their respective religious and secular styles, in both lyrical content and instrumentation. It came about in the late 50s and early 60s. The main hitters that supported this music were Motown Records, Atlantic and Stax. This all happened during the civil rights movement so there was an element of funky-secular-testifying going on!

There were many different forms of soul going on from various city centres, but this week we’re going to give you a great overview of the music as a whole….don’t miss it.
