As the temperature climbs, so to do the rates of heat-related illness in some seniors’ buildings without air conditioning. The Board of Health will be looking into measures to retrofit buildings without air conditioning in order to prevent heat-related illnesses. Councillor Joe Mihevc says there will be dire consequences if nothing is done, citing climate change research suggesting heat waves could be more severe in the future. Board of Health Vice-Chair Sarah Doucette joins Libby.
