Overcrowding in hospitals is a normal occurrence in Ontario. That according to information obtained by the Globe and Mail that shows 6 hospitals whose acute care beds averaged over 100% occupancy rate in the last 5 years, and 89 hospitals are above 85% – the threshold which many experts describe as the idea for preventing the spread of infection. But what factor is to blame? Is it our aging population? Or is it a lack of funding for hospitals? OMA president-elect Nadia Alam & Dr. Zach join Libby to talk about it.
