Today’s discussion: The CRA has been on a big push to move as many people as possible to efiling. Many people have been complaining about that. Now, The Canada Revenue Agency is sending an unlikely message to kick off tax season: if you still rely on the traditional paper filing system, they have not forgotten you. They have made changes to simplify the instructions and added notes about new benefits for the 2019 tax year, and include a checklist so nothing gets missed. It seems like good news. In other news, there’s a new way scammers are trying to take your money – this one comes through a very disturbing phone call that sounds like a cry for help.
