It’s Monday and that means it’s time for our Zoomer Squad. There is nothing more urgent than the devastating impact of the virus on long-term care. Nursing home residents make up nearly half of the entire death toll throughout the country. It happened very close to home – one of our colleagues Des Thiernny lost his dad in a local long term care home last week. The closest he could get was through a window outside – a fact that magnifies the tragedy of what is happening there. CARP has just conducted a poll on long-term care and it shows that most people think our governments are doing a poor job.
