“Any time I go out in public I put a mask on. I think it’s the right thing to do”. Those are Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s words. As the province continues to gradually ease COVID-19 restrictions, wearing masks in public has become commonplace. But, in Canada it is a recommendation, not mandatory. In other countries, wearing a mask is mandatory as is the case in Spain starting today. Ontario Transportation Minister Carolyn Mulroney is urging residents to wear masks when taking public transit, but Health Minister Christine Elliot says masks of the medical kind should be reserved for health care workers. So, with all this confusion and debate, we bring in our health care guests to offer some clarity and insight.
