Libby Znaimer is joined by Pierre Poilievre, Conservative MP for Carleton and finance critic followed by Ted Mallett, Vice President and Chief Economist of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB).

This week: Ottawa released a fiscal update that shows that the country is headed towards a $343-billion deficit this year. Canada has not seen such spending by the federal government since World War II and a lot of that spending is the result of the benefit programs that have been rolled out amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Libby and guests follow up on the latest developments.

Also, Canada’s unemployment rate is the lowest compared to other countries in the G7. We talk about that too.
