Libby Znaimer is joined by Dr. Sheldon Salaba, President of the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO).

The OAO has launched the Save Eye Care campaign and is calling on the province to put an end to underfunding towards eye healthcare. The OAO is saying that, “this chronic underfunding, coupled with the devastating impact of COVID-19 on optometrists’ ability to see patients, threatens Ontarians’ access to these essential health services”. And, they want the government to assist in covering the costs of eye exams and to allow optometrists to be more flexible with regards to their billings.
