24 thousand people are waiting for a bed in a long-term care facility in Ontario according to Community Care access data, and If there are no long-term care beds when someone is ready to leave the hospital, they stay in the hospital, leaving a shortage of beds there and then we  start hearing horror stories about patients left in hallways for days.
