Canada is the first place where a genetically modified animal product is for sale. That product is GM salmon. We don’t know if we’ve bought it in a supermarket, or ordered it in a restaurant because there is no labeling requirement. Some experts say Canadians have nothing to fear from genetically modified salmon. This is something that Canadian scientist Dr. Garth Fletcher has been waiting to hear from American regulators for the past two decades. Dr. Fletcher received the all clear for the controversial GM fish, allowing the U.S. sale of AquaBounty AquAdvantage salmon.
